RTI INTERNATIONAL METALS, INC. ELECTS NEW BOARD MEMBER

Niles, Ohio - RTI International Metals, Inc., (NYSE: RTI) announced today that Edith E. Holiday has been elected as a member of its Board of Directors. Ms. Holiday served as Assistant to the President and Secretary of the Cabinet in the White House from 1990 to 1993. Prior to that, she held several senior positions in the United States Treasury Department, including General Counsel, acted as chief legal, budget and administrative officer for the George Bush Presidential Campaign and engaged in the practice of law. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Amerada Hess Corporation, Beverly Enterprises, Inc., Hercules Incorporated and H. J. Heinz Company. She is also a Director or Trustee of various investment companies in the Franklin Templeton Group of Funds. She was a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Child Research Center and served as Chairman of the Board from 1995 to 1997.
